Plugins=FATAL ERROR OUT OF MEMORY

    Ok, so my web host gives me unlimited bandwidth & storage. When I try to install most plugins, I get an “Out of memory error” The only way to fix is to delete the plugin directory via cpanel file manager.
    I ONLY INSTALL PLUGINS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE COMPATIBLE WITH MY VERSION OF WORDPRESS!
    Any clues on what is causing this or how to fix? HostGator says it is not a host related proble, but has to be related to WP in some way.

    Contact your hosting provider to increase the php memory limit.

    I increased it myself via the PHP.ini file. Did not fix the problem. I have a suspicion that it may be my theme because here is the EXACT error I get:
    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 52428800 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 64 bytes) in /home/wolf/public_html/wp-content/themes/smallbiz/functions.php on line 719

    But when I go to line 719 in the file mentioned by the error, it has nothing to do with memory:
    } else {
    $blog_id = get_option(“smallbiz_page_for_posts”);
