# Plugin's wont update or delete

 * Im not sure why, but im having difficulty updating or even deleting my plugins.
   my website name is [http://www.laveryoflaguna.com](http://www.laveryoflaguna.com)
 * Below i included what the error says when i try to update a plugin.
    Im on wordpress
   4.1

 * Removing the old version of the plugin…
 * Could not remove the old plugin.
 * Plugin update failed.

   the following:
 * (1) Make sure the wp-content/plugins/ directory and all the files in it are writable
   for the web server.
    (2) Make sure the wp-content/upgrade/ directory exists, 
   and is writable by the web server.
 * You can also add the following lines in your `wp-config.php`
 *     ```
       define('FS_METHOD', 'ftpsockets');
       define('FTP_BASE', '/path/to/wordpress/');
       define('FTP_CONTENT_DIR', '/path/to/wordpress/wp-content/');
       define('FTP_PLUGIN_DIR ', '/path/to/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/');
       define('FTP_USER', 'username');
       define('FTP_PASS', 'password');
       define('FTP_HOST', 'ftp.example.org');
       ```

 * Where do i edit the html? How do i get to the wp-config.php
 * Sorry if that was a stupid question.
 * My brother works a lot with computers and ill copy and paste your message and
   send him it in an email. Hopefully either you or my brother can help me understand.
