I’m on the WordPress Updates page of my Admin Dashboard (multi-site install), where I see that I have about a dozen plugins that need updating.

I click “select all” and then “update plugins.” I see the page where the updates are running, and then it says it’s complete. But when I return to the WordPress Updates page, it acts like it never happened.

After several times of going through this, the WordPress Updates page still shows that the plugins need updating.

Never had this problem before, and I haven’t installed any new plugins for about a year (I’ve done many updates successfully since then). Only been a problem since updating to WordPress 3.8.1. Any suggestions?

Are you able to update the plugins one at a time? Instead of bulk update?

Yes, I’m able to update one at a time. What a pain, though!

    Wish the bulk update worked.

Very strange issue. I’m not sure what powers the bulk update, so I’m not sure where the issue may lie.

Maybe post something about it in the advanced section? I’m sure someone more knowledgeable about core knows how that all functions, and could probably point you in the right direction.

I have too the 3.8.1 version , i remember i have updated some plugins recently, yes one by one, and i think all is okk , normally it should work too for bulk , so i think maybe there is a miscompatibility between some plugins, and i suggest to use a plugin to check the compatibility.

    cheers
