 * Hey all,
 * I rather new to wordpress and have a (possible very stupid) problem:
    After moving
   the site from offline to live, I can no longer install plugins. Possible a link
   for the plugins is wrong but I don’t know where to look for it.
 * When I try to install plugins through the wordpress-admin page, I get the message‘
   downloading from …’ and ‘Unpacking the package’ but that’s it.
    When I try though
   uploading the files to the wp-content/plugins folder, I do not see the plugin
   in my wp-admin page.
 * However, the plugin zip-files I tried to install through the wp-admin page, are
   located in the wp-content folder in stead of the wp-content/plugins folder. Possible
   wordpress can’t unpack the package there due to violation of access-rights? Also,(
   but this can be due to other settings) for some reason there is a http: folder
   in my root folder of the wordpress installation.
 * Does anyone know how to fix this?

 * When you try uploading unzipped files or zipped files? If you upload manually
   you need to upload unzipped files.

 * Maybe, but you should get an error of some sort. Are you sure that all of your
   files have been uploaded properly? Incomplete uploads is a common problem.

 * I’m not familiar with this issue. There shouldn’t be an ‘http’ folder in the
   WP root, as far as I know, though WP might be in an ‘http’ folder depending on
   the server organization.

 * Unzip first and then open the unzipped directory to check if there is no extra
   directory wrapped around the actual plugin files, because then the plugin will
   not show in WP.
    Then ftp them to /wp-content/plugins

 * Hey all,
 * Thanks for the feedback.
    I was trying to upload unzipped files through ftp or
   a zipped files through the wordpress upload-plugin feature.
 * But I think I have found the cause of this problem: too low php memory available.
   The website is hosted at one.com and they don’t offer too much memory. In the
   mean time, I have uploaded succesfully a new plugin but I took some time to get
   it visible in the plugin page of my wordpress.
 * I will see if I can switch from one.com to bluehost.com to get things running
   more smoothly. Thanks anyway for the time and effort you guys put into this.
