• i am having trouble with a new plugin i want to activate and the way it is displayed in the browser, looks all weird, shows all the code in the browser. what should the permissions of the plugins be ?
    like chmod ? coz i work through ssh.

  • If it is showing the raw code, something went wrong with either the download or the upload.
    Which plugin ?
    Permissions do not affect plugins unless the plugin author specificlly mentions it.

    I had this happen when I saved the plugin file with formatted text. You could try resaving in text-only format and uploading again.

    yeah there error is the test format is saved it in, i got that fixed though thanks.
    i did change the permissions to chmod 644 coz i worked out that was the permissions set on the other plugins that comes with WP.
