When I click on the plugins link in my dashboard, plugins.php loads an empty page. This only occurred after installing a new plugin via FTP. Assuming that installing the plugin had caused some sort of issue, I deleted it, but plugins.php still is not loading correctly.

In Google Chrome and Safari, it simply loads as a blank page – however in Internet Explorer, I get an internal server error message.

Is there some way that I can remedy this, other than having to do a clean install?

Thank you in advance for any help.

  • Try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin..

I tried both methods – the FTP method didn’t cause any change, and as for the phpMyAdmin method… there were no tables. While I have a very limited understanding of php, I cannot imagine why no tables are appearing.

Pardon? Without a wp_options table, your site would not function at all. Try reading the instructions again.

My apologies. I was taking the instructions too literally – the database I needed to access was called “lfo_options”. I didn’t figure this out until I looked around in the other databases also being stored on my employer’s hosting account. Then of course, the instructions worked perfectly fine!

I am very new at this and am running into lots of “d’oh” moments. Thank you so much for your help!
