Plugins Not Working Correctly Until Theme Is *Briefly* Changed?

I’m encountering an issue where I have a couple plugins that don’t work correctly after updates (to either that plugin or other plugins), which I can’t seem to resolve except by temporarily activating another theme and then going right back to my child theme.
Unlike on my staging website, I can’t do this on my production website, and there must be a way to clear whatever is getting stuck until I temporarily change my theme, but I can’t figure out what or how to do it. It’s not my browser cache and I’m not using any caching plugins (nor is my host doing any caching).
Any suggestions would be much appreciated–I’m imagine there is a rather simple solution, but it’s escaping me at the moment.
