• I’m encountering an issue where I have a couple plugins that don’t work correctly after updates (to either that plugin or other plugins), which I can’t seem to resolve except by temporarily activating another theme and then going right back to my child theme.

Unlike on my staging website, I can’t do this on my production website, and there must be a way to clear whatever is getting stuck until I temporarily change my theme, but I can’t figure out what or how to do it. It’s not my browser cache and I’m not using any caching plugins (nor is my host doing any caching).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated–I’m imagine there is a rather simple solution, but it’s escaping me at the moment.

  • You don’t say what it is that isn’t working, but perhaps you should ask at the plugin’s support forum.

Thanks, I have, but I haven’t heard back. Both plugins (Ultimate Member and WP Job Manager – Company Profiles) are creating pages that -after they or other plugins update- sometimes result in the pages not being found, until I briefly change/toggle themes.

I can’t consistently re-create the issue, or I would be able to troubleshoot it better. If not a caching issue, could it be permalinks that are being regenerated by briefly changing themes?

I wonder if simply going to Settings > Permalinks in the WordPress admin dashboard and hitting “Save Changes” (without actually making any changes) would do the trick. Does that sound possible?
