Plugins not showing up - variation on a theme (3 posts)

I am trying to install plugins on my site (straightchuter.com) and although they show up in the wp-content/plugins folder, they do not show up when I try to install them with the WP plugin manager.

    Some background details:
    - I'm using WP 2.5.1 with Filezilla as an FTP program
    - I have read through all of the related postings on this issue and made sure the plugins were not in nested folders.
    - I have set-up and installed WP 2.5.1 with various plugins on other sites (and with other hosting companies) and not had a problem.

I went in and deleted the Akismet and Hello plugins using Filezilla, yet when I went into the WP Plugin Manager... they are still there, even after repeated reboots and refreshes! I'm also running a K2 theme, but it doesn't show up in my themes directory - only the Classic and Default themes. It is like I'm running a phantom version of WP as nothing I do via file upload/download with Filezilla seems to have any effect on my site.

As further background, I'm going to be adding content to this site, but it was set up by another party.

Thanks in advance - any and all help appreciated!

I can see two copies of k2, one directory and one .zip located here:

I can see both Akismet and hello and nextgen are in place here:

I don't know how that helps, but I don't see anything odd other than the k2.zip folder in your themes directory.

Alright - I just answered my own question.

Due to multiple attempts at setting up the site, the original party who installed WP created two installations in two directories with very similar names. I was FTP'ing to the wrong site.

    Happy turns,
