# Plugins not installing

 * Circa a week ago, my plugins stopped letting me update them, as well as my themes.
 * I havent changed a thing on my website that would have anything to do with downloading
   new updates, and now they’re starting to pile up little by little.
 * Example:
 * Updating Plugin YouTube (1/1)
    Downloading update from [https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/youtube-embed-plus.8.1.zip…](https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/youtube-embed-plus.8.1.zip…)
   Unpacking the update… An error occurred while updating YouTube: Could not create
   directory. Disabling Maintenance mode…
