Support » Plugin: Backup and Staging by WP Time Capsule » Plugins no longer update

  • Suddenly I’m unable to update plugins with WPTC active. When I click to try to do that (without backing up first), nothing happens.

For example, there was an Akismet update today. With WPTC activated, it just would not update. However, when I deactivated WP Time Capsule, the plugin will update within a few seconds, as expected.

I’m not using the staging area and haven’t installed any new plugins or made other changes.

Any suggestions? I’ve been really pleased with WPTC but sure would like to get this issue ironed out.

    Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. It looks like you have enabled auto updates on your WordPress site.

To disbale auto updates, could you please activate the WPTC plugin and go to
WP Time Capsule -> Settings -> Backup/Auto Updates -> Backup Before Manual Updates > uncheck Always -> Save changes.

Kindly try this and let us know if you still experience the same problem with updating the plugins on your sites.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately that’s not it — I haven’t ever enabled auto updates. (I like to do that myself.) I just checked and it’s not enabled.

I meant to say in my previous reply — both auto updates and backup before manual update are unchecked.
