• First of all I’ll mention that all the plugins are great πŸ™‚
and there are loads to choose from. Perhaps therefore its time for some managment of these plugins? Maybe:

    • Merge some to make even better ones?
    • Provide more info about them re compatability with other plugins/templates
    • See if abandoned plugins can be maintained

I see this more as a means for developers to share workload, improve content and get better remuneration for their efforts.

  • Plugins are not developed by the WP developers – or just rarely.

I appreciate that, though the principal still applies, though it would require someone to organise it.

    Feel free to volunteer πŸ™‚

Volunteering would be interesting but not much use I think. Essentially the structure for such development would have to be done WordPress side. Things like

    • Gauge interest amongst developers
    • Provide development tools for cooperation

Get sponsorship for plugin awards for:

    • Most improved plugins by vote/download
    • Most interesting/wacky merger of two plugins

It would be important though to encourage further innovation.
