Plugins disappeared in wp-admin

    Hello, I’m running WP 4.2.2 and it seems when I click on plugins tab in WP-ADMIN it doesn’t display any of my plugins and instantly the functions of the plugins disappear on the site… I have to load a backup of the site from a week or so ago and the entire site works fine until I click the plugins tab in wp-admin… It also says in wp-admin at top “his theme recommends the following plugins: Contact Form 7 and Theme Blvd Responsive Google Maps.

    Begin installing plugins | Dismiss this notice” even though those plugins are installed and appear in plugins directory…

    Nothing has changed with the site… I also run WordFence to prevent intrusion but I’m wondering if site has been compromised?

    What are my options to resolve the issue?
