Plugins: Best practices for adding tokens and logs?

I’m working on a plugin that stores a site admin’s token for a third-party service to be used in a Curl call throughout the Plugin.

What’s the best way to allow the user to input that in the WordPress dashboard? Are there some boilerplate examples available?
