Support » Everything else WordPress » Plugin’s active install growth diagram behaves strangely

    Hello,

I have noticed for some time that the curve of active install growth of the plugin I release, revealed sometimes sudden falls, I think for no reason.
Recently I think I found why : every time a version of my plugin leaves the Active versions chart, there is this sudden fall, probably because these same users upgraded their plugin version to the latest (or a more recent one).
For example I had recently 4 different active versions of my plugin, and when it reduced to 3, I noticed that fall…
I’m pretty sure that’s the reason as I have never noticed a fall in the number of active installs. It has always raised of stayed constant…

Maybe this should be verified in the code…

    Thanks

It’s a mystery and is only understood by a few in the plugin high hierarchy.

The best place to ask about plugin data like that is the WordPress Slack #pluginreview channel.

To use that channel you need a Slack account. You can obtain one via these instructions.
