[Plugin: Yet Another Related Posts Plugin] Which MySQL versions tested and confirmed

  • With a small site, less than 1000 posts from the admin of the site, very few other interactions but with quite a lot of following, using YARPP took the time to run to a minute for each site, probably hitting the mysql timeouts. The mysql server is 5, so I wanted to know what mysql is support by yarpp?

  • @rwinslow – YARPP has been tested on a variety of machines running MySQL (some variety of) 4.0, 4.1, and 5.0.

YARPP does, however, have some performance issues with tag and category comparison. These issues, however, can be improved by the use of caching (using WP-SuperCache or the like). In the future YARPP itself will have caching to help with these performance issues.
