• How can I have the Related Posts list after my posts show the category that each related post belongs to?

I have tried using some function calls I found in other pages ( the_category() and single_cat_title() ) in the ‘After related posts’ option in the YARPP options page in wp-admin… but no joy as the php seems to be ignored/not parsed.

  • Hi–thanks for trying out YARPP. In the current version there’s no way to add such information. However, I’m currently working on an upcoming update that will let power users such as you uber-customize the display of related posts using the same PHP tools used to edit templates, like the_category() and single_cat_title() as you mentioned. It should be coming out in month or so… sorry for the wait.

YARPP works very well for me. I don’t mind waiting at all – working on a longish-term project and there’s plenty else I can be getting on with. Will be looking forward to the next update though.

I am waiting for this feature, I don’t want to clutter my sidebar anymore than it is already, it would be nice to be able to float a div layer at the bottom of the related post 🙂 when do you think this will be ready?

If you need to display a div after the related posts, you can just add the div to the “after related posts” option in the YARPP options, or edit your theme. You shouldn’t have to wait for the next version to do that.

@benbt-japan I just released the beta of YARPP 3.0 which has that templating feature. I would love to hear your comments! You can download it here and read about the templating features here. Thanks!

yea… I figured it out… sorry, I normally dont miss these things, I was just in a rush that day.

    Thanks again.
