    Hi mitcho!

First of all, your plugin's "Awesomeness" match threshold is really, really high :)

My question is that's possible to simply create some new related_WHATEVER functions to get related posts from any custom post type? Or need to modify the yarpp_related() function too?

Can I add some additional arguments or overwrite someones from the wp-admin page when manually put the code at any place my theme? That's just in order to create variable related post.

And what about the custom taxonomies? Is there any chance to use them in the matching algorythm without hacking the core source of your plugin?

    Thank's

    Thanks. :D

Right now YARPP only supports posts and pages, and the built in taxonomies. You would definitely need to hack the core of the plugin if you'd like to do so... but I haven't gotten around to doing this myself and, frankly, am unsure if I really will be doing that. It's not clear to me that custom post types and taxonomies are used by "the masses" yet.

    Thanks your fast advice.

    Just one more question:
What if a put the related_posts() function manually into a custom post type's template file - wich custom post type uses the built in taxonomies like post_tags and category?
Will it generate related posts from the normal post type's posts or because of the custom post type, it won't get any result?

    Thanks again.

Hi vargapeter. I haven't tried that myself, but I'm pretty sure that will work. :) The "related things" must be posts and/or pages.

Ah, I really wished if you could add support for it. I run a site where I have added 4 post types added with their own taxonomies so was looking for a way to show related posts for them as well. Please do consider adding it if you can.

Sorry, but it isn't a priority at this time. I take patches, though. ;)
