    Hi
Looks like a really useful plugin, but I haven’t used it just yet as I have a small issue with it…

I have 5 custom post types, and then a bunch of ‘normal’ posts, and then a whole load of autoblogged posts.

I neither want the plugin to use the custom post-types as the pool of content from which the plugin can choose related posts, nor do I want the widget to display at the bottom of the single post page for these custom post types.

Is there any way I can select which post types to display the related posts widget in, and which to ignore? Or do I have to go through all of my (hundreds of) posts manually to add a new tag so that the plugin can ignore it?

(Even if had to amend the code in the plugin files, I would be happy to do so)

    Many thanks.

  • Do you mean the sidebar widget, or the automatically inserted related posts? If it’s the latter, you can uncheck “Automatically display related posts” in YARPP options, and then insert related_posts() manually in your “normal” post template, but not your custom post templates.

YARPP currently only considers posts and pages as candidates for showing up under “related posts.” As for displaying related_posts() in different places, @chandrew is right on the money.

Thanks guys. I shall do this. Sounds like it should work fine…
