    Hi,

I’m not the first to post about this but I haven’t seen you respond yet about this issue. I am using your widget for a client site, so I need a fix for this or I can’t include the plugin on the deliverable site.

As others have stated: sometimes (can’t figure out WHAT causes this to happen) when you open a WYSIWYG Widget, and click in the text area to launch the WYSIWYG editor, the WYSIWYG editor window is blank and no amount of waiting causes it to load. Just a blank area.

Wait a few minutes and try again and then it works fine. No rhyme or reason (I’ve tried to get it to break when working, and tried to get it working when broken – can’t figure out what causes this to happen intermittently.)

I have seen you post that you’re working on an update – soon – is this something that will be fixed? Your plugin appears to be the only one that provides this functionality, so I really don’t want to uninstall it, but as I said I can’t release a buggy plugin with my finished client site…

For what it’s worth, when the plugin is working, it’s really awesome. I hope that you do continue development.

    HI Webscaper,

Like your saying, there’s no rhyme or reason. This bug has been causing me too many headaches. I am currently rewriting the whole plugin and taking a whole different approach.

For now, I say don’t use this on client sites. I’m still using this plugin on some of my own sites since 5 out of 10 times it works fine. Either I am just not smart enough or this bug is just really really strange.. Anyway, more developers have been looking into this, no one has been able to found the solution yet…

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. I kept the plugin on the site, but I will let the client know that it may be buggy and we may have to remove it. There just aren’t any other plugins (that I could find, anyway) that will give my client true WYSIWYG functionality for a text widget (why this is not built-in functionality…or at least a popular developer plugin – is beyond me). My client is a community association for seniors. They’re not computer illiterate by any stretch, but teaching them HTML is out of the question.

If you’ve got a mailing list or have a site with RSS feed of announcements, I would love to know when you re-develop the plugin. If done right it would be a must- have on any WP site.

    Thanks,

    Kym
