[Resolved] [Plugin: WPtouch] Mobile Site does not work on new Android OS?

  • Hi

When trying to view the mobile site on my Samsung Galaxy Siii, it displays OK initially but the search function or menu does not respond when you touch these on screen.

Will the plugin be updated for the new Android OS or is this another issue? It works fine on my Motorola Android and on the iphone.

    Thanks

    Nickie

@d33k, try just JRO03C and see how that works (a bit without the /). Otherwise, you may fall into the issue that needs our attention. Thank you for your patience.

@bravenewcode inc. I did as suggested and still have the same issue.

    I had the following under custom user agent;
    Build/JRO03C

    Now it is just;
    JRO03C

i have added only “JRO03H” and absolutely nothing changed.

this is my whole user agent string:

    “Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.1.1; pt-br; GT-I9100 Build/JRO03H) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30”

[ Please do not bump, that’s not permitted here. ]

Hi, has anybody managed to get this working on jellybean ?

    Many Thanks

    Payneardo

    Any news with this problem?

seems people at BraveNewCode is really not giving a damn for this bug 🙁

OK, this seems to happen only on the free version of WPTouch, the paid versions seems to be NOT affected. Anyway, i dont believe it’s something complicated to fix …

    > the paid versions seems to be NOT affected
It looks like a plan. I temporarily switch off the plugin.

    Hi,

Please share the URL of one of the website in question. We’ll be happy to test locally. Also, go to whatsmyuseragent.com on your Android device and share the complete user agent string here. We’ll take a look at it and suggest what to add as a custom user agent in the WPtouch settings. Thanks.

http://openocd.sourceforge.net/ does not work with JB.
As i mentioned above it is not the user agent that is causing the problem.

    Full JB user agent is “Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.1.1; en-gb; Nexus S Build/JRO03E) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30”

I can test the above user agent in firefox (using User Agent Switcher) and all is working ok.

    http://www.comologoexisto.com.br

whatsmyuseragent.com on android 4.1.1 device gives me:

    Your User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.1.1; pt-br; GT-I9100 Build/JRO03H) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30

a screenshot of ‘comologoexisto.com.br’ on the android device with the informed useragent

The Elements of Your User Agent String Are:

    Mozilla/5.0
    Linux
    U
    Android
    4.1.1
    en-gb
    Galaxy
    Nexus
    Build/JRO03C
    AppleWebKit/534.30
    KHTML,
    like
    Gecko
    Version/4.0
    Mobile
    Safari/534.30

As I guess everyone else is finding, home page displays, but search and menu do not respond.
    On Samsung Galaxy SII.
The Elements of Your User Agent String Are:

    Mozilla/5.0
    Linux
    U
    Android
    2.3.4
    en-gb
    GT-I9100
    Build/GINGERBREAD
    AppleWebKit/533.1
    KHTML,
    like
    Gecko
    Version/4.0
    Mobile
    Safari/533.1

no the issue are related to Jelly Bean (JB) – 2.3.x gingerbread is working fine as far as i know,
