[Plugin: WPtouch] Can I do this with WPTouch?

  • Hi I am a proficient WP developer but I’m not so familiar with mobile dev. I would like to implement a mobile version of my site with WPTouch.

    Does this plugin provide for:

    1. I need a layout with a logo on top, then 3 bars underneath ‘About’, ‘News’ and ‘Matches’. About and Matches would open into static pages while News would be the posts from the news category. I would also like to have the About and Matches pages specific to the mobile version of the site. Is all this possible? I don’t mind purchasing the pro version, I just need to know if it’s possible and how I would go about doing this.

    2. I am trying to test it on a Blackberry bold but it still brings up the normal version of the site, not the mobile one. If I open Safari on my desktop and using the ‘Develop’ bar set the user-agent to iphone then I get to see the mobile version. So WPTouch is working, but not on Blackberry, is this normal?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    1. You can create and customize a page in WordPress to suit what you need here and then set it as your WPtouch Home page, it will be independent of the homepage you have set for your desktop theme.

    2. Currently, blackberry 9800, blackberry9500, blackberry9520, blackberry9530, blackberry9550 are the Blackberry devices that are supported. Note that in WPtouch Pro you can add support for additional devices.
