[Plugin: WPMU Google Sitemap] External URLs being re-written incorrectly

When looking at the sitemap generated by this plugin, I noticed it had re-written external menu item URLs to internal ones, which is incorrect since those aren’t internal pages.

Here’s an example:
Appearance > Menus > Custom Links
I add http://google.com
Then the sitemap adds it as http://mymusite.com/2011/09/13/google/

There’s also no way to exclude items and it ignores rel=”” tags, which should be used indicate what should/shouldn’t be a part of the sitemap.
