I installed WPBook following all instructions to the letter, and the posting of my blog articles immediately worked nicely. What doesn’t work, however, is the integration of comments made on facebook into my blog. I went over the instructions like 10 times, checking everything was fine, but it still doesn’t work.

I have no idea what to do next. Any ideas?

Also, when I try to put a tab on my profile, Facebook says that it doesn’t support being put in a tab. So the problem is probably with the facebook side?

How are you trying to add the tab to your profile? (By what mechanism – there are multiple ways to do this)

What are your settings for tabs – do they look like the ones in step here: http://wpbook.net/docs/install/step1/ (click on the image to see the larger view of the “Facebook Integration” settings).

Have you enabled debugging? Does the debug.txt file get created in your wpbook directory?

Have you created an stored an infinite session key?

Under “apps.facebook.com/linksundlib” I clicked on “Add Profile tab”.

They didn’t look like that. I changed them to the same settings, which didn’t work because whenever I try to do something with the application Wall, I get error messages. However, I have now set them to just allow tabs on my personal page, and it works.

Yes, and No. I thought that might make a difference, but forgot to mention it.

Have you created an stored an infinite session key?

Yes. About ten times, but it’s always the same, isn’t it?

Oh, and when I try to go to the tab on my profile page now, it says:

By the way, John: Thanks for coming to help me. Almost forgot that. 🙂

So the errors about css and html suggest that in fact your tab doesn’t have the right url.

You must have a tab url set, and it must be set to `?app_tab=true&fb_force_mode=fbml

    If not, it won’t work.

You said that when you made the settings like the sample,

I changed them to the same settings, which didn’t work because whenever I try to do something with the application Wall, I get error messages.

What error messages? What were you trying to do which caused errors?

What’s the url of your blog outside Facebook, and what’s the url of your Facebook app?

Separate from the tab issue, on the issue of importing comments – if you’ve enabled debugging and no debug.txt file gets created, that suggests something more important is wrong, and the cron-based task is never firing.

Have you run any other plugins which rely on wp-cron before? (Can you schedule posts to publish in the future, for example?)

Hi, I’ve got the same problem. It looks like cron never starts – no debug.txt file in plugin directory.

Everything working but comments from wall 🙁

I turned off plugin Qoate Content Expiration and now waiting.

    I’ve installed Core Control plugin:
There is no WPBook on the list 🙁

Same problem with me. I managed to get the posts displaying on my fan page, but comments are not going back to the wp blog

    Same with mine!

Post going to my personal profile wall, but not to the application wall.

No comments from my wall are going to the blog.

I thought maybe it was a plugin problem. So I deactivated all the plugins and reactivated just wpbook.

The comments from fb showed up.

I did find one plugin that interfered and deleted it (WP security scan).

However, the only way I can get fb comments to show up is to deactivate and then activate the wpbook. Any comments posted during that time will show up when the plugin is reactivated.

A bit odd … I wish I could figure out how to fix it.

I belive WPBook is using a cron tab (John can clarify that as he wrote that part of the code) to pull comments every x min, other users have said it’s around every 40 min or so. Have you tried to leave the plugin active for a while and see if the new comments load after some time?

ok, after deactivate plugin (only wpbook) and activate again – i have got comments from wall. And there is wpbook cron on tasks list (core control).

    Plugin Author John Eckman

    (@johneckman)

Yes, wpbook does register a task with wp_cron, which should run hourly.

The task within wp_cron gets established when the plugin is activated, and runs hourly.

This thread is a bit of a collection of issues – is anyone who had posting working but comments not importing still having issues?

    Plugin Author John Eckman

    (@johneckman)

@mommyknows – are you still having issues with posting to the wall?

Are you trying to post to the *application* wall as you mentioned above?

I believe Facebook applications are not allowed to post to their own walls.

If you’re still having trouble with that portion (posting to walls) please open a separate thread, so we can keep this one focused on people having issues importing comments.

    Thanks.

    @john:
I’ll try to work it out according to your reccomendations and follow-up questions tomorrow. Issues not solved yet, though. Tks.
