Support » Plugin: WPBook » [Plugin: WPBook] How can WPbook identifies its posts on facebook wall?

  • Resolved adrianomm

I’ve been using WPbook successfully. I am wondering if it is possible to post on my a wall outside WordPress (and outside WPbook application) and also make it possible to import comments.

I know WPbook uses a meta_post to embed post id inside the wall post information, but how can I do it? How can I embed “post id” in my application publication so it is recognized as WPbook post?

I have experience in PHP and I know how to make a post on wall using facebook api. I’m trying to understand WPbook source code and up to now I think it does have something to do with “comments_xid”. Am I right?

    Can you help me?

    Thank you very much…

Yes – if you look at the publish_to_facebook.php file in the includes directory, and trace how it publishes, it gets a facebook post ID back from Facebook for a successful post.

That postID is stored in wp post meta and used later to retrieve comments. WPBook also stores the timestamp of the last comment retrieved so it doesn’t have to keep going back over the same comments
