[resolved] WP Frontend - how to post videos/photos? (4 posts)

Right now my submit page looks like this... http://www.randpaulreview.com/submit/

How can users submit videos w/o knowing to type [youtube=www.youtube.com] or something like that? Do I need to make custom fields for photos/videos?

    Thanks,

I don't want the users to have to upload the video to my site. I just want them to link to the youtube video. Tks.

WordPress automatically embeds Youtube videos when the link to the video is its own line in the post. For example this http://www.youtube.com/EXAMPLE would not be embedded, but this would be:

    http://www.youtube.com/EXAMPLE

The links to the videos can be copied from the browser's address bar - in most cases. The option that works in all cases (when the video uploader has allowed it) is to click the Share button under the video and copy the http://youtu.be/EXAMPLE shortlink.

    Hopefully this resolves the topic.

PS. The page you linked to says "This page is restricted. Please Log in to view this page." Taking a screenshot with for example https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/screen-grab-with-online-upl/ and uploading it to for example http://imgur.com is recommended - even when you change your own website, the image in your original message and the replies it gets can be used to solve the same problem for many other users.

That's a simple solution. Just needed to put the link on it's own line. Thanks for the help.
