  • First, thanks for the excellent plugin. I have been looking for exactly this for a long time. I can’t tell you how happy I was to finally find just what I was looking for and to notice that it works so well. The only thing I’m really missing at the moment is the support for Custom Post Types and Custom Fields.

I have Custom Post Types with Custom Fields and am experiencing difficulties in letting users properly add those types of posts through WP User Frontend.

For example using Events Manager I have Events and Locations. Using the shortcode [wpuf_addpost post_type="location"] it’s possible to add a new Location, but that Location will be missing its mandatory custom fields like the address. I couldn’t find a way to add these fields to the WPUF form.

The same is true for Custom Post Types with Custom Fields created by Types, for example. Types has its own settings to for example change the ordering of the custom fields, so you can choose whether you want for example Skype Login field to be displayed before or after Home Page URL.

Could WPUF be updated to either read the available Custom Fields and their order from the same settings, and/or to support manual entering of the fields to fill? For example like this:

    [wpuf_addpost post_type="location" mandatoryfield="address" mandatoryfield="city" field="excerpt"]

Here two mandatory and one non-mandatory field would be added, in that order, in the end of the WPUF-generated submission form.

  • Neither the Installation or the FAQ page have any information on how to utilize the Custom Fields page. On version 1.1 of the plugin the page doesn’t yet recognize the custom fields created by Types or Events Manager.

did you tried the custom fields area of this plugin? You can add custom fields to the form by creating them from the Custom Fields area of this plugin. At first you’ve to enable custom fields Frontend Posting tab.

Although all custom fields meta_key added by the plugin are prefixed with cf_. It’ll be solved in a future version.

Thanks for the quick reply! I enabled the Custom Fields on the Frontend Posting tab. I then created a new field. After this, there were two issues:

    1. This field was shown on all forms created by WPUF. I would like to create one form to create Events, another to create Locations and so forth, each showing different fields.
    2. I couldn’t figure out a way to map the data entered into this field to end up as the data of the Address field that Events Manager’s Locations use.

Is it possible to have different fields for different forms so that [wpuf_addpost post_type="location"] and [wpuf_addpost post_type="event"] would create different forms? And is it possible to make those forms’ custom fields enter data into the Custom Fields that those Custom Post Types already have?

Right now it doesn’t support multiple forms per custom field. All the custom fields are added in the form whether you use the form for different post types.

    Have the same trouble.
Why it add the prefixed “cf_” -!? For what?!
    Where to kill it?!

Right now it doesn’t support multiple forms per custom field.

Tareq or anyone can add this feature? I would like 2 different post type but how to?

    [wpuf_addpost post_type=”different form”]

Now i see ever the same “New Post”
