[Plugin: wp-typogrify] Possible conflict with Typogrify and short codes (5 posts)

I'm using 2.6 and the new captions to go with images. While the shortcode for the caption appears in the 'write' panel, it doesn't get rendered when I view the post or page. I've experimented with settings, and this only applies when Smartypants is enabled on this plugin.

I've tried other shortcodes -- for GeoMashup, for example -- and these, too, fail when Smartypants is enabled.

Is there a way of forcing Smartypants as part of this plugin to escape processing around shortcodes?

Can the same filter which prevents titles being process also be applied to items within square brackets?

I'd really like to see a response to this, too. More and more plugins are using custom shortcodes, but SmartyPants breaks any that use quotes, apostrophes, or double-hyphens--such as to pass parameters to the plugin.

Will be working on fixing up wp-typogrify very soon! Thanks for mentioning this.

I put together a temporary fix for this incompatibility

Hope that solves the issue until a new official version comes out.

wp-Typogrify has now officially been replaced by wp-Typography, which plays much nicer with shortcodes.
