if you could please update to the latest version because there was a bug with the announce sending invalid data in one of the releases. at the moment i have found one bug in the latest release but it is on the admin side of things and will try to push out a new update this week fixing any bugs i have found and adding a couple new things. as for the permalinks it does not matter which permalinks you use as long as there is the word announce for the announce page in the link because of the limitations of the bittorrent protocol. if you want to use the standard wordpress links with the page id then you are going to have to use the direct link to the announce in your theme or the plugin as your announce url but then the link will not be so pretty and will be long. if anybody has any problems let me know and at the moment while it is in beta i will try to help people get it setup. also for people who wonder when it will come out of beta i do not have a set time frame at the moment for that because there is a lot of things which need sorting and adding and loads of test needs doing to see if everything works the way it should and of course the code will need a nice cleanup. i am trying to integrate with wordpress as close as i can and break away from the original torrent source code used but somethings will stay the way it is which you see in most torrent source codes out there.
