  • I love how simple and powerful WP Time Machine is. It does everything I need sans the feature-glut and without fail so far!

I’m wondering if it could be made better by allowing date-stamped tar-ball or zip archives WITHIN buckets.

As it is now, it seems to only create new buckets. But, if I automate via cron (which is kinda the whole point of backing up), then I’ll quickly fill up the bucket list.

That area is not meant for a ton of items really and if this happens from backups of multiple sites, then that list will get long and unwieldy quickly.

If I am able to set up buckets that represent separate sites like so:

    – site-1-bkups
    – site-2-bkups

Then I can have tidy date-stamped archives INSIDE each bucket like so:

    – site-1-bkups
    — site-1-20101103.zip
    — site-1-20101110.zip
    — etc.
    – site-2-bkups
    — site-2-20101103.zip
    — site-2-20101110.zip
    — etc.
