[Plugin: WP Super Cache] Using a CDN to display static versions of web posts / pages?

Currently WP Super Cached pages are served to 99% of our viewers. We also make use of a CDN to serve our images, js and css.

I saw this service launch recently http://cloudflare.com

..which got me thinking, why not use a CDN to distribute the supercached static version of the page on a distributed network?

Any reason why something like this could not work?

Any companies offering a service like this you are aware of?

It could work, but permalinks will redirect to the CDN. That might make sharing links harder.

In the cloudfire.com solution the CDN is actually hosting the domain name and redirecting non-cachable content back to the site.. I’ll explore this a bit more and see what, if any, options are available. Creating a globally distributed cached site could really make a site “Digg Proof” 🙂
