[Plugin: WP Super Cache] Suggestion: Per-Page or Per-Path Expiration Times

It would be really cool if there were a way to set different expiration times for the cache based on URL or Path. The reason I suggest this, is that not all pages on a site have the same level of update frequency, and in my particular case, I’ve got one really complex page (summarizes all of our top-rated posts) that takes about 5 to 8 seconds to render when uncached, but only needs to be updated maybe every 4 to 8 hours – while other pages on the site (like the home page) are updated every 45 minutes with new content. It would be great if I could set a much longer expiration time on the top-rated page.

  • Any ideas on this? Or suggestions on how to build out a custom cache just for a single page?

for sure it would be cool. We all have pages that have long lives, and we don’t want them to be rebuilt every x minutes.

If the garbage collector is implemented using wp-cron, it should be simple to implement 2, 3 or 4 differents cron-based GC.

    Donncha:
Any possibility this could be a feature request for a future version? I’d happily contribute some money to the project if that helps get it implemented!
