# [Plugin: WP Super Cache] problem with .htacees file?

 * I installed wp supercache on wp 2.6 at bluehost but users were getting message
 * “due to abuse your IP has been banned”
 * then we discovered it was for those that were pointing to URL with out WWW. Pointing
   to URL with WWW ([http://www.halfwaytoconcord.com](http://www.halfwaytoconcord.com))
   worked fine.
 * I thought this was a redirect problem but bluehost tech said it was a problem
   in super cache config in .htaccess
 * They said they fixed this. And it worked fine for 2 days before I goofed and 
   UPGRADED to 0.8.5 (via plugin upgrade mechanism in wp 2.6) and now back to square
   one where users get error message when using URL without WWW
 * Is this truly a wp super cache issue and how to solve and do I have to do the
   same fix every time I install?

 * Have you tried the site with supercache uninstalled? That should answer your 
   question 1. If it is a supercache problem do the same fix. If it works, that 
   should answer question 2.

 * When I deactivate wp supercache 0.8.5 the problem of goes away where
 * I can reach the site [http://halfwaytoconcord.com](http://halfwaytoconcord.com)
   with out www and without getting the “due to abuse” message
 * Could the problem still be in how the wp supercache script is configured in .
   htaccess?
 * Because at one point bluehost was able to get url with or without www to work
   with supercache on, but then i got 404 and 500 error messages when I tried to
   click thru from a link on the front page to the full post behind it.

 * bluehost would not tell me what they did except tell me they made a change in
   the .htaccess file
 * now they have told me to go fix it myself.
 * It seemed one guy (scott) knew what the problem and solution was but next tech
   did not and sent me packing.

 * I deactivated wp-ban and reactivated wp-supercache and everything works fine,
   and I have sent details to lester chan

 * Try plain old wp-cache or head-space plugins.

 * The problem is that when someone who is BANNED visits your site, WP Super Cache
   caches the ban message. Then anyone who subsequently visits that page gets the
   ban message too.
 * It can be temporarily cleared up by deleting the cache.
