[Plugin: WP Super Cache] Okay to cache index.php / home page?

  • I have a WP site that contains very little info, none of which will be updated very often. The theme feeds the pages all from the home page, so only index.php loads.

I have enabled Super Cache with mod_rewrite, compression, and other recommended settings; and I can see the Super Cache comments at the bottom of the page, but there’s nothing under wp-content/cache/supercache/.

I presume this is because Super Cache’s default configuration does not cache index.php. Is the correct approach for me to remove the line “index\.php” from the “Strings” advanced configuration?

You can try that but that shouldn’t stop your site being cached unless every URL had index.php in it. I think removing the index.php may cause other problems, but I can’t remember what they were right now.
