Support » Plugins » [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Need help with setting up cache and optimizing

  • We’re running WP to power a local TV news website. It receives 15-25,000 visits per day normally, but when bad weather hits, everyone seems to visit us at once.

Today, we’re crashing. WP cannot keep up with requests and is timing lots of folks out.

We’re using WP-Cache but need to move to Super Cache.

Frankly, I need help setting this up properly and making sure we’re properly optimized for peak traffic. It’s a high priority issue for me so anyone with experience and a little bit of time would be greatly appreciated.

  • It should be a drop in replacement. Just make sure you replace all files, and delete all cache files. Deploy it on a test server first of course.

You should probably invest in more hardware, because software caching will only get you so far. However, the static caching in wp-super-cache should help a lot.
