• Hi,

I tried many times to install the wp-super-cache plugin, but I cannot get it to work properly. Curretly, I get the message:

<!-- Dynamic Page Served (once) in 6.514 seconds -->
<!-- File not cached! Super Cache Couldn't write to: wp-content/cache/wp-cache-35f405501c6df30f1de60625c7f33fb8.html -->

It appears that the wp-content/cache directory is not writable, but I can not change the permissions because this directory was created by wp-super-cache! Also, there are some subdirectories created and the file wp_cache_mutex.lock is also created… Strange, no? Any suggestions on solving this issue?

  • You’ve probably got some sort of su-php and security setting on your server, maybe. You should ask your administrator to change the permissions if you can’t do it.

Try to deactivate the plugin, this will perhaps remove
the cache folder. Create the folder with your FTP program and set
permissions to 777 and then activate the plugin again.

I already tried the suggestion by gtk, but no success… It probably has to do with donncha’s suggestion, but isn’t it weird that some directories are created and some files are not?

I’m not completely a noob, but I don’t know enough of such technicalities to be sure….

How to check if this is indeed the problem? Can I recognize it by inspecting phpinfo?

Yeah, phpinfo() will tell you a lot, but I honestly don’t know because I just use a plain vanilla Apache+mod_php with nothing special.
