[Plugin: WP Super Cache] Clear Index.php On Comment

  • My theme shows the number of comments on a post on index.php. So at the end of a post, it will say something like “5 Comments.”

When I turn on wp-super-cache, this doesn’t get updated when someone leaves an actual comment. So the front page may say 5 comments, but there may actually be 10 or 20. The page itself is updated properly; it’s just the main page that isn’t. So a user may not know there are new comments for them to read by just visiting the main site.

Is there some way to delete the index.php cache whenever someone comments on a post? Alternatively, is there some optimum configuration tweaks to wp-super-cache to mitigate this sort of thing?

    Thanks for any help.

  • I am also interested in this problem.
I need to update index.php (main page) after comment added anywhere.

The front page is supposed to update when comments are left. Do you have “Only refresh current page when comments made.” enabled on the settings page? If not, use the debug system in the plugin to figure out what happens when a comment is left.
