# [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Cache clearing and expiration

 * I’m looking at WP Super Cache for the first time, and it’s pretty cool. It looks
   like the plug-in automatically deletes the cached copy of the homepage when a
   post is created, edited, or commented upon (correct me if I’m wrong). I have 
   a few questions about this:
 * – My blog does not show number of comments on the home page, so it’s not necessary
   to clear the home page when comments are added. Is there any way to turn this
   off?
    – In addition to the home page, my blog has several category-level pages.
   When I create or edit a post, it’d be ideal if the plug-in could purge from the
   cache not only the home page, but also the category pages. Is there any way to
   customize this? – This is probably a silly question, but… it seems that the plug-
   in automatically purges pages from the cache whenever that’s necessary — so what
   is the purpose of expiring pages from the cache?
 * I’d welcome any input or pointers to any documentation I might have missed on
   this subject. Many thanks!

 * -This is not a built in functionality as far as I can tell
    -There is an option
   to clear cache after creating a post in the settings. -Most people need caching
   for pages because the run widgets along them like on posts. Like “recent posts”.
   Purging the cache on these pages lets you see things like this update.
