Support » Plugin: Slimstat Analytics » [Plugin: WP SlimStat] Why is there data differences with JetPack or WPstats

  • Resolved h2ofilters

    Thank you for this plugin!

I am curious why data is different from other stats plugin. With JetPack, my page views are between zero or 20 on the average. I was extremely concern I thought I was doing something wrong on my new blog at

I decided to download yours and same day I saw page views went up to an average of 200 per day for five days now and unique visitors are on the rise as well.

Then, to test again, I switched to JetPack, and my page view for today was just 1. But I have switched back to slimstat.

I would like to know if you can explain the wide difference between the two data.

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

not sure why there’s such a big difference between the two. But Jetpack needs to connect to a remote server to record all your visits. Also, from their FAQ’s I read

The plugin collects stats via a javascript call, so as long as the JS call is on the page stats will be collected just fine, whether the page is cached or not.

which means that Jetpack only works for ‘human’ visitors with javascript enabled, while WP SlimStat counts all your pageviews, including those generated by bots, spiders, mobile devices and such.

Long story short: WP SlimStat is more accurate than Jetpack 🙂

PS: a vote for my plugin would be a nice way to say thank you!

Thank you camu. At least slimstat shows that I am not wasting my time blogging; that my blog is being viewed by some-one or some-things. I am baffled that Jetpack will show “zero views” or “zero search terms” when this is not really the case.

Anyway, thanks for your plugin. It just helps me to not give up on my blog that people are reading it.
