Quick question for you before I address the other issues: are the charts working in your install?

If you are talking about these charts, yes, they are working. => http://screencast.com/t/BBntQTtgo

Okay great, thanks. Other users are saying the chart doesn’t work for them and I wanted to understand why πŸ™‚

    As for your questions,

    1) I’ll add a new option under ‘Maintenance’ to allow admins to remove entries based on usernames. In the meanwhile you can do it directly in PHPMYAdmin.

    2) Someone was trying to do something malicious on your site

    3) I’ll add an option for that, good thinking

    4) Yes

    5) Use the Maintenance > Purge functionality to get rid of them

Thanks for clarifying! All good for now. Will re-open this thread if more 2.8.3 related questions pop into my mind.

Sure, you know I appreciate your feedback!

    Oh, one more addition:

    After upgrading I visited:

Settings => Slimstat => Filters and all the fields where I can enter something had “array” written in them so I deleted the word array in all text fields and saved. All is good now and if I enter “activate_plugins” into the field “Users by capability” and save it gets saved properly and all other text fields are still empty.

That’s the problem, then! Some users are experiencing difficulties accessing the config panel and it’s because the field hasn’t been updated properly! I’ll have to take a look at that.

    (@coolmann)

    Okay, problem fixed.

    Thread Starter Ovidiu

    (@ovidiu)

fixed as in the next version?

    Plugin Author Jason Crouse

    (@coolmann)

Yes, or by manually downloading 2.8.3 again πŸ™‚

    Thread Starter Ovidiu

    (@ovidiu)

Thanks, I had held off updating al sites using the plugin until it was fixed πŸ™‚

    Smart move, my friend!

    (@ovidiu)

    Oh, two more questions:

    • How come this URL is listed as one of my top landing pages: mydomain.tld/?ver=4.2.9&suffusion-css=css – that is a css file belonging to the active theme !? How could I suppress parts of the theme showing as landing pages? I’m sure nobody linked straight to that css file πŸ™‚
    • How come my recent bounce pages show the same URLs as my recent 404 errors? I don’t think there is a point in showing a URL as a recent bounce page if it also gave a 404 error.
    Plugin Author Jason Crouse

    (@coolmann)

    1) put that in the filters or add a few lines to your htaccess to tell Apache to serve those files directly instead of let WordPress process them, you’ll save a lot of server power!

    http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/24587/how-do-i-skip-wordpresss-404-handling-and-redirect-all-404-errors-for-static-fi

    2) good point, I hadn’t thought about that, I’ll remove 404 pages from that report.

    Thread Starter Ovidiu

    (@ovidiu)

    Thanks for 1) Camu.

As to 2) I don’t think removing the 404 pages is the best solution. I meant to say that if i.e. mypage is a bounce page, fine, show it in the bounce pages report, but if
mypage?someweirdURL is a 404 error, no reason to show it in the bounce page report too, since nobody actually “bounced” off this page since it was a 404 error.
    Does that make sense?
