I’m pleased to say that after some very hard work in the past few weeks, version 2.0 of the plugin has now gone live.
The new version has a totally revamped codebase, I focused on the plugin’s architecture, and it is now using custom post types for storing the feed sources and imported feeds. For those of you who have a lot of sources, you should see a good leap in performance when rendering the page with your imported feeds.
If you are upgrading from a previous version, version 2.0 should retain your sources, please let me know if this doesn’t happen.
There is now a new option to limit the number of feeds displayed, and I’ve removed the previous organisation of ‘Today’, ‘Yesterday’, etc.
Let me know if you encounter any problems!
With this version you cannot, but I’ll probably release an extension for that soon.
An upgrade is always great, but mine no longer show the Today, Yesterday etc titles.
That’s right, there were quite a number of requests asking for their removal so I did so. There will soon be a number of extensions released though, and this feature can be in one of them.
Many thanks for your feedback.
Hi, I have been using the previous version without any issues.
Once I upgraded today, my RSS feed for my site stopped working.
No page is returned for this URL now.
I deactivated RSS Aggregator and it came back to life.
Is there a way to revert to the old version of RSS Aggregator for now?
I would like to have both RSS Aggregator and the site RSS feed working until you find a fix for this issue.
OK, I did the risky thing and removed the 2.0 version and uploaded the old 1.1 version. Everything is back to normal on my site. Let me know when you get a fix for this RSS Feed Error. Thanks, David
That’s the first time I’ve heard of the plugin affecting the RSS feed. Are you using the shortcode to show the imported feeds? Let me know how you’re including it, and I’ll investigate further.
Yes, I am using the shortcode and the feeds show up on the page where I put it. But, my main feed goes dead. It seems to be getting some sort of error. I am using the Canvas Theme from WooThemes in case you know of any conflicts with the theme. Thanks for responding so quickly, David
Thanks David, can you paste the shortcode you are using? Would be nice if I could see the error, too bad you already reinstalled 1.1
I could reinstall 2.0 if we could coordinate the time, so my blog would only be broken for a short period of time. This way you could possibly see what is happening. Let me know. I am Pacific Time (California), so keep that in mind as far as timing and I will help you find the issue. Thanks, David
David, if you could reinstall and post the error that would probably be enough, that message would help me see what is going wrong.
David, I’ve identified the bug, will be releasing an update later on today that will fix this. Many thanks for pointing it out!
I just tried the new version 2.2 and my RSS feed is now working.
Sorry, I did not see your updates due to spam filtering, and I just checked this thread to see if there was any progress and saw that you fixed things up for us a few days ago.
Thanks for the speedy fix.
You are awesome!
