  • Hi laissezfarrell,

That’s an interesting idea. What kind of date range would you use? and why? Personally, I’ve just combined the feed into one, with no time breakdown. Interested to see how other people want to use this plugin – could be inspiring!

I work for the university archives that is setting up a WordPress blog to aggregate content related to university history from seven different blogs run by different departments within the library.

Right now, we’re using a different plugin and have a static WordPress page set up for each blog’s content related to history, but we’d like to make the updating more dynamic. For instance, each week, we could run RSS Aggregator for the previous seven days, resulting in a post pulling in x number of posts related to the subject we’re interested in.

Like I said, the workaround we’re using works (at least the content is all in one place), but it’s not as dynamic or interactive as we’d like it to be.

Ooh, I like it! I created a modification to the plugin using a variable “limit” to control the number of posts displayed, a quick fix until this feature is added permanently. Maybe you could do the same thing for the time stamp. You could combine the whole feed into one (as I’ve done), then create a variable “numberDays” to set a limit on the number of days shown. The current function uses strtotime, so I don’t have an immediate answer as to how you’d create the stopper, but I’m sure it’s doable! Will think on it…

Taking note of this for a future update.

Do you think it makes sense to set a limit for the number of days in the past that feeds can be displayed? Like one week maximum? Or is it best left open?
