  • This plugin works on single WP installs.

I voted 4 stars and WORKS.

Stay away from WP Multisites because its 300% against everything WP stands for on Multisites.

    – WP stands for working from of a single WP installation making multiple WordPress websites and blogs by clicking a few options. This Plugin only works on WP Multisites when you duplicate the Piwik software twice or more (each WP website needs it’s own clean Piwik install) Totally not friendly and not WordPress standards.
And a single Piwik install has the option to add more websites so that doesn’t match either.

    Other things..

It looks and woks great on a single WP install, and shows Real Time stats very nice in your dashboard! Great setting options for hiding Admin stats against count totals.
But again, i don’t see the reason why you would add a plugin to include the stats in your WP admin dashboard while this software has a great iPhone -/Android App.
(keep your WP install lightweight and less plugins as possible)
Plus, the admin-/dashboard of the Piwik software itself has a great interface and looks very similar to the WordPress dashboard.

I found out about Piwik yesterday because i don’t wanna be Google’s friend, i make my own friends.

Love it, everybody should give a try (Real Time) stats in a great interface and also a good Mobile App to view your webstats. All for FREE.

Conclusion, this plugin isn’t for me, but i could understand it would work very nice for a lot of people.. Positive about it!

    Hi BJ,

you didn’t try the multisite support, did you? 😉

There is no need to duplicate your Piwik software of course. You can use it as a simple plugin each user can configure on his own (see Description->WP multisite->Simple) or you can use it as a “real” multisite plugin (see Description->WP multisite->Extended) working automatically in one Piwik instance (“WPMU-Piwik will add a new site to Piwik each time a new blog is visited the first time.”).

Piwik’s dashboard is nice and powerful and it’s not WP-Piwik’s idea to replace it. In fact WP-Piwik should e.g.

    – add a simple stats overview to WordPress. So you must not switch and login to Piwik each time e.g. you just want to know today’s number of visitors.
    – allow you to add the Piwik javascript code very simple and smart. (No template changes, avoid counting staff members, and so on.)

Also WP-Piwik is intended to be used while working with a computer. I don’t want to check my stats on my iPhone’s small screen while I’m sitting at a monitor screen 😉 But WP-Piwik is not designed for mobile usage, so there is no reason to use WP-Piwik instead of a Piwik and/or WordPress mobile app – I completely agree with you.

    Thank you for your feedback!
