[Plugin: WP phpBB Bridge] Posts widget requires anal detail

  • I have phpBB installed and apparently working. But adding the Posts widget and setting overall forum/category IDs doesn’t work like it should.

I would expect that setting a particular forum ID would display all forum posts within it. Not so! Nothing is displayed. The widget requires me to be anal about adding every single forum ID that I want to appear in the list.

    Here’s how it looks

    Forum 1
    –forum 2
    —-forum 5
    –forum 3
    Forum 4
    –forum 6

If I want all the posts to display from all of these forums, I have to enter “1,2,3,4,5,6.”

Why can’t I just enter “1,4” and it display all the subforums, too? Or why can’t I enter “0” and it display everything?

“Why can’t I just enter “1,4” and it display all the subforums, too? Or why can’t I enter “0” and it display everything?” – that’s called granular control. One man’s anal is another man’s granular.

You spend the time, one time, the users enjoy it many times. All coding is anal.

    HAppy THanksgiving!
