    Hi
Is there a setting that determines the size that a photo is displayed in Lightbox?
The reason I ask is because, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, some people out there who know no better, end up with so many useless toolbars in their browser window that the actual content of the page they’re viewing is quite small.
Because of this, when they’re viewing an image through Lightbox, the full Lightbox image with a description is to high to fully display. This results in the navigation arrows and description being fully or partially hidden.
Ideally, the Lightbox window would resize allowing the whole Lightbox window to be displayed. I’ve checked this and if you attempt to scroll down to see the full description and nav. arrows the only thing that scrolls is the page in the background, not the Lightbox display.

These people who use an out of date OS and browser are a pain in the **** and I wish there was someway they could be forced into upgrading.
Unfortunately, from my experience, the vast majority of Internet users are puzzled by the word ‘browser’ and think it’s called Google!

The lightbox image can always fit the window if you add wppaOvlResize(); to the onclick attribute of an <a> tag that changes the size of the description field. See the help (?) of Table IX-B4 (New photo desc) for an example. You can copy-paste this to a photo desc to see it in action.

Changing the windowsize will not change the displaysize in old browsers because window.innerWidth is undefined. I assume a windowsize for old browsers of 800×600, this causes a little off-center horizontally most likely and probably other minor layout problems. TO ENCOURAGE users to upgrade to modern browsers this will stay as it is.

A design criterium is and will remain: No scrolling in the lightbox view, people who want to see the world through a letter-box opening…. so be it.

Hopefully this explains a bit how and why.

I tried wppaOvlResize(); and I see no difference.
However, I agree with your design criterium.
This leaves me with one other question:
Since I have most of my photos shown in a large slideshow there’s no real need to have the Lightbox option on them. However, some of my pages have stand alone images (no slideshow) and it’s those where Lightbox would be useful.
Is it possible to separate the two? ie have Lightbox option only on photos that are not in a slideshow?

Maybe i was not clear enough, this works only in ver 5 browsers, not in ver 4 browsers (IE7,8)

    Fixed in 4.6.10 (!!)

    Hi,

it would be fantastic, if i could change the max. lightboxsize. e.g. 75 % of the screen.
is it possible to fix it?

    Why would you need this?

If it is for fully displaying the descriptions, enter auto in Table I-G1.

BTW: Next time please open a new ticket as i might skip resolved topics to look at.
