The sidebar widget shows one photo out of an album that is linked to the widget. You can set the selection of the photo to: Fixed, Last upload, Random, or Change every every hour, day or week.

I did assume that was enough.
There is a pending enhancement request to have the ability to add one or more sub-albums to the selecion pool.

I will add the feature you described to the list of pending requests, but it will not have the highest priority.

    Thanx for your input.

Can I have two sidebar widgets with this plugin? Or can I upload the plugin twice to get two sidebar widgets?

No, sorry, there can be one widget only. If you could have more, they would display the same photo. That’s the way it’s designed….

The sidebar widget can link to an existing page on my WP but not to an album. Can you add more option that is to link the sidebar widget to an album? At least link to the album where the current displayed picture (thumbnail) belongs. Thanks for a wonderful plugin.

Make a page with the title ‘Pictures of the day’ (by example).
If the album you want to display is 26 (example) give it the content:

    %%wppa%% %%album=26%%

Then set the link to this page.
    Done!

Perhaps the functionality that I wanted is to be able to specify my own link (i.e. the link to the album) instead of just being limited to WP Pages. I don’t want to create another page just for that album, it’s redundant.

You can not link to an album as such. You can only link to a page with an album definition in it. An album is not an entity that can be linked to. It is an imaginary concept.

In 2.3.0 i will add the %%album=..%% etc to the link so you can simply link to the generic photo album page to see the pictures of the day album. This will help you, i guess.

Thanks opajaap, perhaps this is what I need, technically. I was looking at a very simple way of just right-clicking on the album to copy the link and pasting it to the “Link To:” section of the Sidebar Widget Settings. I tried to use the copied link to paste and go on the address bar and works just what I want. Creating Hyperlinks using the copied album link works as well.

Ok, i will release 2.3.0 in a few days with the link improvement i described.
Thanx for your input, and sorry for my misunderstanding earlier.
