How big is the zip? If big, your server may give up. I still do not know how to detect that.
Try small ones first (with only 2 or 3 photos of reasonable pixelsizes in them)
I am having the same problem. The initial zip file I was using was just under 5MB (the limit from my host) but I also tried your suggestion of a smaller zip file with 5 web sized photos with a zip file size of 570KB.
When I click import, the zip load files are visible so when I choose one and click import, the screen reloads to a blank page and nothing happens.
Yep.. small ones do not work either.. even single photo uploads only work occasionally. Often it loads and loads, then suddenly the page refreshes and nothing was uploaded.
Just to analyze this problem… Try export an album with only a few photos. Does that work? If so, try import the results. If that works, you will get duplicate photos in the album that you have to remove afterwords, but the album will produce a warning of album already exists, that does no harm. Monitor whether the export produces a zipfile. If your php version does not support the zip class the export will result in separate files. If the zip class is supported the export will result in a zipfile. If no zipfile is produced, the zipimport will not work.
Please report any errors and warnings. Maybe set
define('WP_DEBUG', true);in wp-config.php, this might produce more error/warning messages.
I am having a similar problem to KevinLP. Photo seems to upload but nothing there. Haven’t tried to upload via zip.
Have checked similar problems and tried fixes suggested (change access, create folders manually, small files etc.) but no success. Can import photos and works fine then but not upload photos directly.
Albums at following link,
Still trying to solve upload problem so set debug to true. get the following errors showing when try to upload,
ERROR: Unable to retrieve immage size of chairs.jpg Are you sure it is a photo?
Error inserting photo phpl3mAXn.
Image concerned is 396k and 1936 x 1296 pixels but tried others down to 60k and 300 x 400 but still get same error. Tried setting resize on upload with no effect.
It really seems to be a filetype problem, maybe a jpg version that is not supported by your php’s
So jpg are not all the same? How would I tell as I simple save and resize in Irfanview using standard settings.
So I should be able to upload zipped files? Must check.
BTW is there any reason it refers to “immage: with 2 m’s?
Tried a basic jpg ( not extra info ) and still no upload. Same error.
Tried a zip file and get this error.
Failed to extract /smhhome/2-web/29/43/mcglynn.id.au/public/www/deblog/wordpress/wp-content/wppa-depot/admin/blog.zip
Very annoying as actual album seems good.
