I’ve just deleted my old version of WP-Members and then re installed it fresh as it had stopped worked for some unknown reason, but now when someone signs up, it sends me blank emails and doesn’t enter the user in to the database as it did before. I have them on pending approval by the admin, but this wasn’t a problem in the past. In the email, the activation takes me to a page that doesn’t exisit:
    The site is:

Someone please help?!! This is a great plugin and we really need it!

  • The fact that you are getting user_id=0 in the email looks as if the users are not being registered (in which case there would be no user_id to pass to the email). Why that would occur, I’m not entirely sure. You might need to do some additional testing with regards to any other plugins that might be used – try deactivating any other plugins to see if there is a conflict.

Thanks for the reply. Really appreciated. I deactivated all plugins and it is still a problem. It’s very strange as it was working fine before. I have recently added a field in wp_users table however… Would that have an impact? As far as i can tell your plugin doesn’t utilize that table?

The addition of a field in wp_users absolutely could have an impact. Yes, the plugin does rely on that table. Everything the plugin does with regard to registration and login relies on that table.

It is a core table for WP so I’m curious why you would alter it?

Hi Chad. Thanks for your reply. Yes , you live and learn – i am a bit of a novice with hacking plugins for my use [ couldn’t find one that did the job ] and the only way i could get it to work was to add a field in that table. Funny thing is that it worked fine locally and there were no repercussions as happened live.

Think i might have go go back to the drawing board as i am unable to even add new members through the back end, which proves it’s not your plugin at fault. Sorry to waste your time and thanks for your help solving this!

Not a problem – I’m glad we were able to figure it out.

I would say that one thing to remember as a “best practice” is that anything that requires changing something core to WordPress is a bad idea. Something like adding a table would be ok, but altering a core table would be bad.
