I noticed that if you fill in a required field and you have not filled in other required fields, then press the "submit," button. you then are unable to clear the form.

If you submit without all required fields, the form will populate with the values you have already given. "Clear form" will clear any values you enter at that point, but not anything from the previous page load. Additionally, if you change a value and hit clear form, it will revert to the value the field was populated with at page load. That's just the way html works.

I thought the clear form function or a reset was a php function working with HTML.

What you have described is happening differently -

A - enter data but not with all the required fields
B - after a submit, you get an error that all required fields were not entered
C - at this point if you hit the clear form, it will not clear

Summary: After a submit, a clear form no longer works. This is the way it is suppose to act? Checking if we are on the same page :).

Clear form is html, not php. And the clear form in the plugin's form works the only way that html works. For clarity, it would probably be more appropriate to call it "reset" as that is really what it does. In the case you have described, getting down to point C, it set the form back to the state it was in at that particular page load:

    1. any empty fields would revert to empty
    2. any fields that were populated would not be cleared
    3. any fields that were populated and changed would revert to what they were at page load

Thank you for your response. I think "reset" would be more accurate than "clear."
