Setting highlighing language (2 posts)

My blog (http://texdev.net) is about TeX and LaTeX, so I'd like to use TeX code highlighting. Is there a way to set WP-MarkDown to pass information to Prettifier about which highlighting parser to use? Based on the StackExchange extensions, I tried using a 'magic comment' line of the form <!-- language: lang-tex --> and similar, but this does not seem to work. I also had a look at the settings for a 'default language' (I hardly ever need anything except TeX), but again drew a blank.

You can try the wp-markdown-syntax-sugar plugin to specify your language. I have found that, in some cases, this plugin causes have of my code blocks to disappear. ymmv.
