Installed this plugin since i was not getting e-mails while using PHPs mail() function. Set it to send through SMTP (Google Apps with auth).

Issue 1: IF using Google Apps SMTP servers: “From” e-mail field is ignored. The e-mails ALWAYS shows as if they came from my user@google-apps.com account specified in SMTP settings.

Issue 2: IF other SMTP host is used (tested with COX) “Set the return-path to match the From Email” is ignored and always shows the info user enters in the “FROM” field in contact form.

  • Hello i have the same issue using Gmail server.

The from e-mail field is not recognized of the Contact Form 7, but it uses the username of my Gmail account, so when i reply to received e-mails i reply to my Gmail e-mail address and not that one used in Contact Form 7 “from” field.

    Hi,

Me too, I have the problem with Google Apps and Contact From 7.

    Solution posted elsewhere:
So that you can easily reply to customers submitting the forms, you need to add the following line in to the Additional Headers field.

    Reply-To: [your-email]

Thanks for the great plugin. I’m using it as part of bitnami hosting on Amazon and it saves a lot of hassle.

I’m actually having the same problem as the guys above. I’ve had a look at the link and your advice, but, and I maybe being daft here, where is the Additional Headers field? I’m not using contact form 7, so this will be used for admin email and probably gravity forms, but for things like passwords I would still like it to send from the from email address.
